Follow-up on Audio with David Ewald

Macromere: You’ve taken down the Audio page on your website. Why?

David: As you know, the book is going through revisions as it nears e-publication. Recently I went through “David” again, the fourth story, and made some significant changes that would have to be added into the recording I already have to justify keeping it up on the Audio page. I decided then to simply take down the page altogether—and continue making necessary changes to the rest of the stories.

M: Any insight into what these changes entail?

D: Mostly the changes involve making the stories even more connected. I’ve always liked novels made up of linked stories, but the stories have to really connect. They do in He Who Shall Remain Shameless, but now I’m getting them to the point where they’re even better connected.

M: So is the whole Audio concept off the table for good?

D: I wouldn’t say for good. As I said the last time, I’m very much interested in releasing the entire work eventually as a podiobook. I’d likely have to get some of the stories re-recorded, though, and for that I’ll have to see if Matt would still be interested. But I believe it can—and will—be done, eventually .

M: And the book trailer for the novel…that’s coming soon?

D: Very soon, I believe. It should be ready in the next few days, or earlier.

M: We’ll look forward to posting that trailer here. Thanks, David.

D: Thank you.
